April Jeunesse Kids Days Supports Foundation for Foster Children
May 19, 2016
As you may be aware, the cause of child hunger and homelessness is very near to our hearts at Jeunesse, due in part to Founder and CEO Randy Ray’s childhood experiences of poverty and hunger. The desire to lend a helping hand to disadvantaged children around the world led to the founding of Jeunesse Kids and Jeunesse Kids Days, which are held once a month at Jeunesse World Headquarters in Lake Mary, Florida and at the Jeunesse West office in Draper, Utah.
Last month, the Jeunesse Kids Days activities supported the Foundation for Foster Children, which provides support services to foster kids in Central Florida. At the recent Jeunesse Kids Days, employees gathered together in conference rooms and break rooms in the Florida and Utah offices to create handmade birthday cards for the foster children at the Foundation for Foster Children. In addition to the more than 70 employees who supported the events, many employee families also participated. By the end of the day, the Jeunesse family had made 294 birthday cards.
Employees also purchased gift cards for high school foster children so that they can participate in many activities they would otherwise have to forgo, such as senior prom. The original goal was to reach $2,000 in gift card donations for the Foundation for Foster Children (which would surpass any donation they have ever received), and generous employees hit and surpassed that goal. Final gift card donations tallied in at $3,062! As an added bonus, a Jeunesse employee secured a generous donation from a hair salon for free haircuts and styles for all the foster kids who are graduating seniors, so they can go to prom or have graduation photos done in style.
Jeunesse encourages employees and Distributors to research needs in local communities and find active ways to meet the needs of children. Jeunesse supports group volunteer activities for employees on a monthly basis. We encourage Jeunesse Distributors to get involved in their own communities by spearheading local projects that benefit children. Start a project today and share what you’ve done with your team at #JNSKids.
